Dave“There was no immediate response from the Attorney General’s Office, which had defended the conviction.” They never say anything when they are wrong!

Tim L” What a tangled web we weave…..” This is a case of a prosecutor picking low hanging fruit. I think it also displays the real intent behind the SORS , the rejailing individuals for past crimes even when the offender had not violated the law.
The case is clear in this instance. Mr Burbey has spent more time locked up and NOT for violating the current law rather for the original sex offense. If Mr. Burney had not been exonerated by the AZ SC he would still be locked up. I hope he finds to an attorney and sues for false arrest and malicious prosecution.

Shayla niceI am currently and forever have lived in Oregon and similar nonsense happens in Washington county I am a homeless registrant and the county police are constantly trying to find ways to jail offenders. They don’t pay any attention to risk level or any attention to the FACT that there is essentially no safe housing for offenders with less than 5 years from the time of conviction. I hope that oregon catches up to Arizona laws very soon.
