My fear is the general public may think we want off the registry so we can re offend. “If you are not going to offend, then you shouldn’t worry about everybody knowin where you live”
Well, it’s not I am worried about people knowing. It’s that people pre judge me once they know. Whether it’s for employment, romantic, or social reasons, no one likes to be pre judged. I had a guy the other day tell me he felt it was illegal for me to be buying things online becuase he heard “sex offenders can’t go online”. I told him you do not know what you are talking about. Sure enough, my neighbor (he is a cop) calls me a few hours later telling me the guy complained I was breaking the law. When they told him I was allowed to go online, he argued with them becuase “that didn’t make sense” to him.
So my question to Terry is this: for 2 1/2 months now you have been dealing with your writ and you are not one bit closer to getting removed than the rest of us. Is it really worth all the stress?
