I read the law. Not the whole thing but the pertinent parts and this is what i learned. The registered status is in regaurds to megans law not state law. So if your required to register according to ml but not state law you get the identifier. In my case I was 18 she was 15, a tier 2 offense, so i am required to register 25 years according to ml but only 10 by my state law. According to Iml i will have the identifier. Even though my registry req lapsed in 2014. This also has raised questions for me regaurding interstate travel. If I move to michigan for example could i be prosecuted for failure to register? Stressed out!
