Have you not been paying attention to the courts around the country? The 6th circuit just upended Michigan’s registry, a Colorado court just declared theirs cruel and unusual, the Pennsylvania Supreme court declared theirs punishment among other things, and the Supreme Court declared that we cannot be stripped of free speech in Packingham. Many states are starting to look at their registry laws as we speak. We ARE winning, and quite frequently. Smith v. Doe is the last one we lost at the SCOTUS level and that was 14 years ago. The only other “loss” recently was when the Supreme court denied cert on Minnesota’s civil commitment program.
My point is that you think it’s a waste of time to fight because you think we have a slim chance of winning. Recent cases and evidence suggest otherwise.
