He brings extensive experience as a grassroots organizer, having worked on several political campaigns in the Washington, DC area. A pivotal moment in Matt’s life occurred when he joined the small percentage of individuals who take criminal accusations to trial. After nearly three years of pretrial incarceration for an alleged sex crime, he was found not guilty. This experience inspired his dedication to advocating for justice-impacted people and pursuing criminal justice reform. Today, Matt channels his efforts into public speaking, lobbying, fundraising, and grant writing to drive meaningful change.
Matt became affiliated with NARSOL following his release from pretrial detention, serving as a copy editor for The Digest, where he remains currently to advance his commitment to advocacy and systemic reform.
