NARSOL announces conference scholarship

On behalf of NARSOL’s Board of Directors, we wish to remind you that applications for scholarship assistance to attend our upcoming national conference are being accepted. The conference will be held at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Raleigh, North Carolina, June 16 – 19.

NARSOL’s scholarship program is unique as far as advocacy organizations go because we provide a direct financial assistance in addition to waiving the registration fee. This scholarship program is possible due to you, our loyal members, and to your generous support of our conferences and its fundraising activities such as the raffles and other items donated to be sold during the event.

Scholarship applications are processed in the order that we receive them, and funds are limited, so it’s important that you apply now. The maximum scholarship award is $300.00, which is in addition to waiver of registration. This amount may be increased if sufficient funding is available. The cash component is not available to anyone who lives within reasonable driving distance of the event.

Scholarship eligibility requirements are:

  • Applicants must be NARSOL members of at least one year;
  • Attendance for the full conference is required for applicants; and
  • Applicants must be receiving benefits from a means-tested federal/state income support program.
  • Additionally, to be eligible for the full allowable amount, applicants must stay at the conference venue.

To apply, you will need to fill out an application giving information about which means-tested program(s) you participate in. Proof of current eligibility will be required.

You will also be asked to write a paragraph explaining why you wish to attend the conference.

You may complete the application at Scholarships | NARSOL Conference, or a pdf application can be downloaded which you can return by regular mail if computer access is not permitted.
