NARSOL conference kicks off with presentation from Jill Levenson
Oct. 8; By Sandy . . . NARSOL’S 2021 Houston conference opened its first day with a keynote address from Dr. Jill Levenson. Her presentation revolved around various ways to frame our message, ways that would be the most effective with different audiences. Using film clips from various media sources as well as answers to the questions she put to the audience in front of her, she explored with the audience the essential topic of messaging.
Later attorney David Singleton addressed the full audience in the primary conference room. Using the theory of interest convergence, first used in connection with racial civil rights issues, he spoke eloquently about the value of utilizing this theory in our civil rights issue, that of restoring the full rights of citizenship to persons required to register on sexual offense registries. His message was followed by a lively question and answer session.
If the two primary presentations on day one of the conference are any indication, those attending NARSOL’s Houston 2021 conference are in for a special treat.
