Back by popular demand: Attorney Paul Dubbeling at 2021 Houston conference

“What I found most helpful was the fact that he took the time to explain the situation and process to me when no else up to this point could or would do so. It’s one thing to know and apply the law, and I’m sure many attorneys do, but Mr. Dubbeling is more than just a living-breathing reference source. He’s an advisor/counselor as much as he is a legal expert, and this sets him apart from his colleagues. When you’re in a situation that you’re not familiar with, and someone talks you through the process like Mr. Dubbeling did for me, it is a HUGE weight lifted in terms of anxiety and stress.”

Is this the way most people would describe their experiences with their attorneys? Quite possibly not, but this praise for Attorney Paul Dubbeling from a former client is not surprising to anyone who knows him.

Paul is a former U.S. Army ranger and infantry officer. He attended law school on an army scholarship, graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University in Bloomington in 2005, and then served as a JAG attorney for six years, including two tours in Afghanistan. After leaving the army, Paul clerked for Judge Neil M. Gorsuch (now a Justice of the United States Supreme Court) before earning his MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business and going into private practice. Since then, Paul successfully prosecuted Does v. Cooper, a federal lawsuit which struck down much of North Carolina’s previous premises restrictions, and is currently lead counsel for NARSOL’s legal challenge to the North Carolina registration laws, Does v. Stein. Paul serves as NARSOL’s attorney and general counsel.

He will speak to us on the topic of “Litigation, Education, Legislation: An Integrated Strategy for Reform.”

NARSOL is honored to welcome Attorney Paul Dubbeling to our annual conference in Houston, Texas.

You may register for the conference and reserve your hotel room here. Don’t wait! Early registration rates will expire soon.

    Good people listen. Paul does that well, even complete strangers call on the phone. Over the years, I’ve come to recognize a God fearing person just in short order. At the time of our conversation I’d no clue he was a Army Ranger but nevertheless the honor such men live in that service remains as an inherent way of life. I have shared with Mr. Dubbeling a hand scribbled schematic and scientific measure of liberty.
    I call it: “Plain Liberty Continuum.”

    At the top of the vertical scale there is the OMNIPOTENT- infinite liberty= (God- almighty). At the bottom of the vertical “ZERO LIBERTY( 0). Time is represented left to right, by current year. As time has went along year after years, registrants are experiencing less and less liberty.THE
    OMNIPOTENT=God Almighty=Absolute Liberty= Infinite Liberty.
    | The free citizens
    | Probation & Parole & Registration
    | The incarcerated
    ZERO LIBERTY=The Dead=The Aborted(Stored potential liberty+Tax payer)
    .Time—->1900…..1990 |1995 |2000|2005| 2010|2015……
