Be the you they say you’re not

Good Friday Morning Everyone,

Snowy, cold, Fridays are always a great time to share and be creative.

Let’s be honest; as a registrant, it is hard. It is hard to focus, hard to believe, hard to care;  it’s hard to dream of a future we want to live.

Rudyard Kipling wrote a poem called “IF.” This is an excerpt from it I would like you to consider.

“If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating . . .”

This is powerful! Why? Because it tells us exactly how we need to proceed, how to see who we are, what we want to be and how to get there. It tells us we are more than they say we are, that we deserve love when they say we don’t. It tells us to ignore the lies and stay focused on the road ahead. It tells us to love and not hate because without love, we have nothing.

Be the you they say you’re not.

I captured this image yesterday morning as these field sparrows began a beautiful dance. I am not sure why they do this, but it was very soothing to watch nature do what nature does.

Have a wonderful day.
