NARSOL in Atlanta at ATSA’s 38th conference
By Sandy . . . Three of our dedicated volunteers are representing NARSOL at the ATSA conference in Atlanta, Georgia, this weekend.
Richard, Michael, and Brendan are talking and connecting, and they and NARSOL’s message are being well received. They have talked with people from almost every state, as well as with representatives of other organizations who have expressed interest in forming relationships with NARSOL. Almost all with whom they have interacted display positive interest in our organization.
Michael reports, “We have established what we hope to be fruitful ties with organizations and entities which have overlapping interests with NARSOL. Surprisingly, we have received overwhelmingly positive feedback even from probation and parole officers, people in the corrections industry, and of course treatment providers.”
ATSA, the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers, has a conference every year, and NARSOL has been pleased to attend and have an exhibit booth for the past six years.
ATSA, like NARSOL, advocates for policy and laws that are informed by research and work for the betterment of society. Their recent blog post reinforcing the lack of any evidence whatsoever supporting a connection between persons on the registry and danger to children at Halloween is one of the best such pieces we have seen.
