By Robin . . . NARSOL is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael McKay as its first director of marketing. Currently the editor of The Registry Report, contributing editor and a director for LifeTimes Magazine, and founding host of Registry Report Radio, Michael has more than twenty years of experience in a wide array of professional marketing activities. Michael served admirably in the U.S. Army for 20 years, completing three consecutive overseas tours before retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. Soon after leaving the army, Michael became the director of marketing and digital services for a chain of regional banks, where he developed a reputation for employing innovative “guerrilla” marketing strategies and took a leadership role in the deployment of online services. He later served as the director of marketing and product development for another financial institution in the credit union industry. An alumnus of the University of California-Riverside, Michael has experience as a website developer, graphics designer, magazine publisher, and has authored five non-fiction books, two of which became Amazon best-sellers.
As long-time chair of NARSOL’s marketing committee, I am very pleased that Michael has accepted our invitation to assume oversight and direction of all aspects of our print and digital marketing efforts. In addition to his well-received contributions to our blog, Michael has been a significant contributor to the growth and expansion of NARSOL’s social media footprint and has contributed his time and talent to the development of additional print and digital materials in support of NARSOL’s advocacy. I am looking forward to working together with Michael as NARSOL moves further towards achieving the vision of its board, its members, and the many volunteers and financial supporters who have a stake in the fight against dehumanizing registries.
