NARSOL 2019 conference in Houston, TX

The National Association for Rational Sexual Offense Laws (NARSOL) is pleased to announce that registration for the 11th national conference is officially open! In order to take advantage of the special early bird rate, be sure to register for the conference as soon as possible (this rate will definitely end soon and may not be extended). Members of NARSOL are entitled to an additional $50 off the conference price and will receive a special discount code that can be applied during the registration process. So, if you’re not already a member of NARSOL, be sure to join today!

The 2019 national conference is being held June 6-9 for the very first time in Houston, Texas. NARSOL has arranged for a special room rate for conference attendees at the Houston Marriott South at Hobby Airport. In order to take advantage of the conference hotel rate, please make your room reservations right away. The cost of conference registration is a separate expense from lodging, so be sure that you 1) register for the conference and 2) book a room for the nights you plan to stay.

You can get more details about the conference by visiting the conference website. We are delighted to be taking the conference to Houston and even more excited by the lineup of distinguished speakers.

We are particularly thrilled to have Dr. Alissa Ackerman as our keynote speaker. A criminal justice professor at California State University and restorative justice practitioner, Ackerman’s primary research centers around sex crimes policy and practice and restorative justice as a method of healing for all persons impacted by sexual offenses and sexual offense laws. She will be speaking on reframing our message so that others will truly hear it and sharing with us how restorative justice techniques can help people to really care about each other.

Returning for his third national conference is NARSOL’s very own attorney, Paul Dubbeling. Paul continues to stay engaged in the fight against unconstitutional laws affecting registered people and their families. His presentations are always enlightening, energetic, and very popular among conference attendees in their post-conference surveys. While we’re not certain exactly what Paul plans to speak about this year, we’re confident that you won’t want to miss it!

Rounding out the list of plenary speakers are Guy Hamilton-Smith, legal fellow for the Sex Offense Litigation Policy and Resource Center at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a 2019 fellow with JustLeadershipUSA; Paul Wright, founder of the Human Rights Defense Center and long-time publisher of Prison Legal News; John Douard, a criminal defense attorney from New Jersey; Dr. Christopher Dum, a professor in the department of sociology at Kent State University; and Lenore Skenazy, president of LetGrow and founder of Free Range Kids.

The oldest and largest of its kind in the nation, NARSOL’s national conference is a one-of-a-kind experience for everyone who attends it. Not only will you learn about what’s new and important in NARSOL’s advocacy for registered citizens and their families, but also you will experience an incomparable level of warmth and fellowship in the company of people who are experiencing the challenging consequences of living while registered. If you’re looking for something to lift your spirits and strengthen your resolve, please follow the links above to register and attend the 2019 national conference!
