NARSOL’s Conference: Come to Independence

Our 10th National Conference will convene in 52 days in Independence, Ohio, which is just outside of Cleveland. Our theme, Reclaiming Full Liberties, conveys the message that registered citizens should no longer accept second-class status. A few highlights of the workshops and presentations should convince you how vital this conference is to your preparation for the battle.

  • A mock legislative hearing will be conducted by Senator Eklund, sitting as the chair. A well-respected and influential legislator in the area of criminal justice reform, Senator Eklund was a member of the Ohio Criminal Justice Recodification Committee and is the primary sponsor of bills to modify criminal sentencing and corrections law.
  • We will have a presentation that explains the politics behind the Adam Walsh Act let by the Honorable Marc Dann, former Attorney General of Ohio.
  • Attorneys Jeff Gamso and Lea Bickerton will discuss landmark decisions and their implications for rational sexual offense laws.

The complete conference program is available here. These presentations and workshops will make this one of the most important conferences you have ever attended.

The Fellowship Banquet scheduled for Friday night will offer the opportunity to solidify relationships and meet new advocates in an evening filled with delicious food and delightful fellowship. The banquet is included with the cost of registration. There will be a silent auction and prizes, and NARSOL will name the recipients of our several awards.

Hotel Rooms:

You should make your reservation now while rooms are still available at the $99.00 group price. We anticipate the block will be completely sold out soon, and adding rooms to the block is unlikely due to the size of the facility. The hotel does provide a free shuttle from Hopkins airport, and there is no charge for booking and then canceling later if that becomes necessary. Check out the hotel here.

Financial Assistance:

NARSOL will provide limited financial assistance to those lacking sufficient resources to attend. The process to apply and guidelines are available here. https://conference.narsol.org/scholarships/

Volunteer Opportunities:

The conference needs a variety of volunteers to make the event possible. If you can spare an hour or more, please visit here for https://conference.narsol.org/volunteer-opportunities/ a listing of job descriptions. You can choose the position(s) you would like to volunteer for and the time slots that you are willing to work.

Thank you for helping to make this our best conference ever. See you in Independence!
