MA: Jury acquits registered citizen of child rape charges

LOWELL — A jury in Lowell Superior Court acquitted a 61-year-old Lowell man of child-rape charges following a trial last week in which the defendant claimed the rape victim’s father may have been the real culprit.

Louis Godfroy of Lowell, who is a registered level-3 sex offender as a result of rape and indecent-assault convictions from 1987, had been held on bail since 2014 in connection with the new allegations, according to court records. (Source)
